All about sustainable travel.

We’re firm believers that we can all do our part to help make travel more sustainable. This might be as simple as picking up some rubbish when you’re at the beach. Maybe you’re into bicycle riding as an environmentally friendly mode of travel, with the added benefit of being good for your health. Or maybe you’re just the sort of person who wants to leave every place that you’ve visited just a little better than before you found it.

Choosing sustainable travel options
Making eco-conscious choices, like shopping from local farmer’s markets, helps reduce waste and pollution that is associated with the mass production of crops. Then, there’s the added bonus of being organically grown by passionate members of the community.
We had to make choices too when we made DINGOtex. Our products needed to be environmentally responsible, and stand the test of time. They had to utilise fabric that is made using recycled materials, saving plastic from landfill.

Choosing sustainable packaging options was really important to us. By using eco-friendly mailers, you can now put your kitchen compost straight into it before it joins your compost pile. We also use a carbon-neutral carrier, so you can sleep easier knowing that we’re taking steps to limit our negative influence on the natural world.

Giving you more time & freedom

Our journey
In the early days of the pandemic, we set off on a a big lap around Australia – a rite of passage for any true adventurer. Although seasoned overseas travellers, we were somewhat green to long-term nomadic life. We’d done a deep dive into all content that was related to vanlife and life on the road in general, but it still wasn’t enough to prepare us for the reality of it. There were some steep learning curves in the beginning, and one of our biggest realisations was that everything takes far more time than you think it will.
Sustainable travel, but in a different sense.
After a few months of our trip round Australia, we found that being on the road non-stop was more exhausting than we’d imagined. Of course there are so many amazing experiences to have, beautiful landscapes to immerse yourself in and so many wonderful and interesting people to meet. It just never felt like there were enough hours in the day to do everything that we wanted to do. We knew there was a better way to do this, so we had a look at what we were spending most of our time on.
It sounds obvious… but we soon discovered that we were spending far too much time doing daily chores, like organising, washing, you know, all the boring stuff. We weren’t spending enough time doing what we truly wanted, discovering new horizons and having the adventure of a lifetime.

How things evolved
Along the way, we overcame these challenges and began to thrive. Optimising the way we lived while on the road allowed us to spend more time doing the things we wanted.
We realised there were so many aspects of slide-on life (aka vanlife) that we’d found fantastic solutions for. Coming up with useful hacks and minimalist-inspired solutions gave us so much enjoyment that we knew we wanted to share it with others.
DINGOtex was born, with the concept of empowering people to travel in a more eco-friendly way, while giving them more freedom. Our innovative product designs deliver functionality with minimal environmental impact.
